Civil Service Strollers are delighted to announce that Gary Jardine has been appointed as first team manager.

The former Edinburgh City manager has been named as Alex Cunningham’s successor at the Scottish Lowland League side.

Gary comes with a wealth of experience including a spell managing in the SPFL division two after gaining promotion with Edinburgh City.

Everyone at Civil is looking forward to working alongside Gary and his backroom staff.

Alex Cunningham will remain at the club and will take a position on the committee and you could not wish for a better retirement present than the South Regional Cup.

His hard work and enthusiasm for the game led to Civil’s promotion to the SLFL and ultimately Sundays South Challenge Cup victory.

He has taken the Club forward and left an excellent foundation for Gary to take on. Well done Alex and we all look forward to the coming season as one, together we can do it.

Speaking on his appointment Jardine said “Since joining at the turn of the year I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Civil.

“It’s crucial for me to enjoy my football and the way I’ve been welcomed by all at the strollers and the desire and hunger that the players have shown to take on new ideas and adapt to my style of coaching has given me the appetite to take up the reigns from Alex.

“Alex is a fantastic person and with his support we can continue to improve as a club builds on the successes of this season.”
