Spartans have been drawn at home against either Greenock Morton or Airdrieonians in the 4th Round of the Scottish Cup.

Morton and Airdrieonians, who both play in League One will replay this weekend following a 0-0 draw at Cappielow on Saturday.

Spartans played Airdrie in the 4th Round of the Scottish Cup in January 2009, losing 2-1 that day in a close encounter.  They played Morton in the 1st round of the Petrofac Training Cup earlier this season, losing 1-0.

The game, due to be played on the 29th of November will be the first time they have had a home tie against either of these sides.

Spartans manager Dougie Samuel is pleased to have another tie at Ainslie Park, he said “It’s great to be rewarded with another home draw. The step up in class makes it even more difficult, however, we’ll be giving our all to achieve the unthinkable and reach the 5th Round.”

Spartans Chairman, Craig Graham was also pleased to be drawn at home, he added “I’m delighted that we’ve been given another home tie against quality opposition , although I think everyone at the club would have loved a crack at Hibs or Hearts.

“The Morton or Airdrie fans will have a great day out at Ainslie Park and you never know…we may just be able to produce another cup shock!”
