Vandals targeted buses belonging to local project, Pilton Equalities Project (PEP).

One minibus and a transit van had windows smashed whilst parked up for the night in Morrisons car park on Ferry Road.

A post on their Facebook page stated: “Unfortunately on the 17th of November PEP’s drivers arrived at the bus fleet at Morrison’s car park to discover that 2 vehicles had been vandalised.

“One bus had both back doors smashed in and the works van, vital for the gardening and decorating service, had its front windscreen smashed.

“This is having a devastating knock on effect on our ability to run our transport service smoothly and affected not only PEP’s service users but also other organisations for older people who rely on the buses.

“The police have been notified and we hope that this has been a ‘one-off’ incident.

“We hope that the community of North Edinburgh can come together and stay vigilant to stop this from happening again in the future.”

Anyone with information should call Police Scotland in 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
