A man has appeared in court accused of committing six sex attacks on women in the Stockbridge area.
Shashank Kasturi appeared in the dock at the Sheriff Court yesterday charged over the alleged assault spree December 12.
The 22-year-old has been charged with six counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual exposure and one count of coercing a person into being present during a sexual activity.
He made no plea to the charges and was remanded in custody.
All the alleged attacks are said to have taken place less than two miles apart.
The alleged incidents happened around Fettes Row, Inverleith Row and Saxe Coburg Street.
Following his arrest Detective Inspector Dougal Begg said: “We know these incidents caused concern in the local community and I would like to thank members of the public for their support during our enquiries.”
