A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged after drugs were found in a car on Friday night.
Road traffic officers in Edinburgh pulled over a vehicle in the Craigroyston area, after it was seen to be driving at speed around 8pm. £50k worth of heroin was discovered within the car, along with a four figure sum of money.
The driver was subsequently arrested and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness said:
“This is a significant recovery of controlled drugs. I would appeal to members of the public who have information around the supply of drugs within their community to contact the police. This can be done by speaking to your local officer, contacting police on ‘101’ or anonymously through the registered charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
