Drylaw and Telford Community Council are looking for views about organising a bike marking event.
They have started a poll on their Facebook page and will organise a local event if people vote for one.
Marking bikes is a great way for police to return bikes to their owners if they are recovered after a theft.
With over half a million bikes stolen each year it makes sense.
