Man due in court following alleged Lower Granton Road collision

A man is due to appear in court tomorrow charged with driving offences after several cars were damaged during an alleged incicent on Lower Granton Road yesterday. 

Emergency services were altered just after 5pm after four cars were damaged during two alleged collisions on the narrow local road. 

The driver of the white car was arrested shortly after and will appear in the dock tomorrow. 

Thankfully no one was injured. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a car colliding with parked cars on Lower Granton Road, Edinburgh around 5.15pm on Saturday, 1 August, 2020. 

“There were no reported injuries. 

“A 40-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences and is due to appear Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 3 August, 2020. 

“Anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to police is asked to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting incident 2985 of 1 August. 

“The road was closed for around two hours to arrange for the recovery of the vehicles.”
