RNLI and Coastguard rescue ten from Cramond Island.

Yesterday (Sunday) RNLI responded to two emergency calls to Cramond Island.

First paged at 14:00hrs to 8 people stranded on Cramond Island, rescued by RNLI and taken to Hawes Pier at which point some where taken to coastguard station to be warmed up.

Second call out came at 17:48hrs – reports of 2 persons having been stranded on Cramond Island for several.

Alarm was raised for the two people after a family member on the shore became concerned for their safety in the darkness and very cold temperatures. Both were located by RNLI very quickly and taken back to Cramond.

If you find yourself stranded on Cramond Island call 999 immediately and ask for Coaxtguard, never attempt to cross whilst the tide is in.
